Meet & Greet with Erin Hunter on 11/30 at 1 p.m.

November 30 from 1:00-3:00 p.m.

Take a trip under the sea and encounter some truly mysterious creatures with A Day in the Deep, a beautifully illustrated book written by Kevin Kurtz and illustrated by Erin Hunter. This book takes you on a journey through the dark depths of the sea to the ocean floor. Most ecosystems need sunlight to function, but deep in the ocean, where the sun doesn’t shine, animals have adapted some very interesting ways to see, protect themselves and eat. Discover the unique habitats, adaptations and food chains of these deep-sea creatures.

Local illustrator Erin Hunter specializes in entomological and botanical illustration. After interning as an illustrator at the California Academy of Sciences and the Smithsonian Institute’s National Museum of Natural History, she went on to illustrate science books for middle-school students. Erin has taught botanical illustration and field sketching at UCSC. Erin has illustrated several other books including Multiply on the Fly, A Day on the Mountain and The Great Divide.
